My birthday was on Saturday 30th July. It was at home.
At home was Mum, Ernie and my sisters.
Then all my cousins came to give me presents.
I felt happy. I ate cake, Poppa Jacks, Jellybeans and Dino lollies.
It was so much fun.
I opened my presents. I got books and an elephant puppet. His name is Noah, he is grey and furry. I was a lucky lucky boy. I read books, I played with my puppet, and I played with my cousins. I played pass the parcel and Josh won, not me.
When the party was over my cousins went home with their mums and dads. I was good, fine and happy.

Space Scarecrow
Space Scarecrow
We made a scarecrow. Ricky and I did. Ricky made a face. We made a green face so it could be a scary face. I did the scarecrow’s t-shirt and pants on its body and legs. Ricky decided that we could have horns on our scarecrow and that it would be great to have a scarecrow with horns. Then we did hands and claws. Ricky made one and I made one. Ricky drew monsters on the shirt because the scarecrow in the book did. We made a space scarecrow. By Zane.

Tornado
When I got home after school I saw a trampoline on the roof of the house. I felt very frightened by the tornado.

Zane Made a Dragon
Last week the Kereru reading group read a book called We Made a Dragon. The children in the book made a dragon for a parade. Zane decided that he wanted to make a dragon too and here it is. He made a good job of it don't you think?
Chinese people have dragons in their parades because they think they bring good luck. Let's hope Zane's dragon brings him good luck too.
